2 Cor. 5: 6-7 (NKJV) 'So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.'
How is your confidence at the moment? Failing a little, lagging behind a bit, are you in doubt? Paul says in the above verses that we are to be 'always confident', to be 'pleasing to Him'. At times, I find it quite tough, my confidence weakens as I cast my eyes on my life and those things that affects it. But Paul reminds me, even when I feel weak, that I am to 'make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing Him.' How can my life please God? In my quite time this morning, I asked Father, 'Father God, please strenghten my faith, as I so want to please you with my life. Show me where I am not pleasing you with my life'. I am casting my eyes up to Him every morning, asking for His perfect will to be revealed to me. My confidence, a growing seedling, yearning to become strong and bearing ripe fruit.
'My Father, how I long to do your will! How I long to be with you in eternity! Please, strengthen my faith, so that I can live through this life into eternity, exalting your Holy Name. It is my choice to do your will, lift my faith, so that I can persevere. Amen.'
